Then you a dumb ho.

The title, from one of Jeff Dunham’s routines.

*blink*

12:15am.

Woken up by abdominal pain.

Where are my meds?

And my blanket.

And my powerade zero?

After taking meds and fluids by mouth, pain is increasing.
Plan B is going to the ER to see if they cant give me something to stabilize me.

Alive, mostly.
Awake… mostly not.

Got to the ER around 6 or so, i think.
Since i had no flu-like symptoms, i was immediately triaged and put in a bed. (this is the second time i go to this hospital, rather then the county hospital, and it seems to be a good idea)

Doctor comes by within 20 minutes of my arrival, gets a quick history and symptoms, and i suggest she review my previous case at this hosptal, then call UNMH in albuquerque to get my history.

Apparently, she doesnt do this.
Instead orders an ultrasound of all major abdominal organs, and a few tests (but NOT a Chem 20 panel which is the important one) and orders an IV and Bentyl, which is a drug that treats GI and stomach spasms.

Um, what?

Even the nurse was confused by this.
I have a history of pancreatitis, and no history of IBS.

Nurse, when starting my IV, had enough sense to draw extra blood for a chem 20. Also, it was kinda nice that he drew from the IV site, so a lab tech didnt have to come draw some from another site.
He missed the first IV, hit a bundle of nerves on the second attempt, but managed to get it in. With my veins, thats actually pretty good.

Apparently, he convinced the doc to run the chem 20 anyway, and after reviewing my history, she agreed.

Got an ass-injection of Bentyl anyway.
Didnt help.
Burned like fuck.
Kinda proved that it wasnt IBS or GI spasms, huh?

Pain was diminished after the first IV, didnt bother setting up a second one.
Chem 20 showed only mild deviation on my electrolytes (good!), a BGL of 261 (also good, since that was a 30 point drop from when i took it earlier) and total cholesterol of 168 (WTFH???!!! thats the lowest its been in a long time.)
The total cholesterol number pretty much proved this wasnt another crash, and since the IV cleared up the pain (And i drove myself) she decided to just give me a script for pain meds for home, and not give me narcotics in the ER, since she figured i could pretty much go home as soon as the ultrasound was done.

Tech did the ultrasound. I got discharged right after it, and they’re sending the results to the endo in Albuquerque.

And I came home… and slept.
And then slept some more.

Ate some of my mother’s meatloaf (visually unappatizing, who the fuck wants to eat WHITE meatloaf… which should technically be called “bird loaf” Only real meat involved is the 1/2 cup of beef broth.)

Now, its time to rest some more.
